One of the easiest ways to make money online is to blog. But, just because it’s easy to do, also means that it is easy not to do and easy to overlook the basics.
Some people blog and blog, and their sites are never found in the search engines.
Some people blog for 3 weeks and quit.
Some people blog about everything under the sun rather than staying focused.
Essentially it boils down to doing three things (the opposite of what I just said).
- You need to have a blog and a blog theme that is optimized to be ranked high in the search engines.
- You need to stay on task and set up a schedule to either blog daily, or at least 2-3 times per week.
- You need to stay focused on a topic 80% of the time. It’s okay to talk about a few other things so you’re not boring, but you need to stay focused.
The second and third point are all up to you. You need to be committed to the blog and you need to know your topic and stay on topic. The first point is where most people mess up, but yet is easily overcome.
I would highly recommend using an optimized theme that has all of the components for getting ranked in the search engines for the different keyword phrases and main topic of your blog. Understand that 95% of all blog themes are NOT optimized for the search engines. They may be cute, cool, and vivid, but sink like a rock in the search engines.
