Helping Suzie - A Friend of My Family

I am asking for help for a family friend.  Her name is Suzie, and though you do not know her, I would like to make it worth your while to help her.

I currently live in Texas, but I grew up in central Illinois. I grew up in a single parent home, and Suzie was a neighbor, also a single mother, raising two boys (whom I played Wiffle ball with constantly). I just returned from a trip back home in July, and got reacquainted with Suzie. Her boys have long since moved out.

Suzie has had a pretty hard time in life. She is no longer able to work due to complications from her diabetes (coronary heart problems, neuropothy, and difficulties with some of the medications they have her on), which has recently included some hospital stays.

So here's the deal. Suzie is a sweet, sweet lady. She is blessed to own her own home free and clear. However, she has become buried by medical bills, unable to work because of the medical complications, and due to a small social security check, she has not been able to pay her property taxes and her homeowners insurance. While she owns her home, she could still lose her home if she can't pay the property taxes.

I have known Suzie nearly all my life, and I consider her a warrior and an angel. If you've ever been in her shoes, you know the pain of carrying this financial burden.

Growing up in a single family myself, I feel a strong conviction to help out those that God puts in my path who are also single moms, widows, or are otherwise trapped in their situation.  Here is a passage from James that you are probably very familiar with:

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress ~ James 1:27

Suzie has two property tax payments due of $375 (one payment is late the other is due this month), and a home owners insurance of $500. That is a total of $1250. I believe we can help her. Here's how:

Here is what I'd like to ask that you do.  Go read the whole story and see how you can help by going to:

Thank you, and God Bless!!
